What We Do
Electric Gate Installation Services
From new installations and automation retrofits to repairs, servicing, and smart access control.
Aluminium Electric Gates
Aluminium gate leaves weigh significantly less than steel equivalents, allowing a smaller motor and reducing long-term wear on hinges and operators. A site survey confirms swing or sliding configuration, and BS 13241-compliant safety sensors are specified as standard.
Automated Sliding Gates
Rack and pinion sliding gate systems are the practical answer where a swing gate would need too much clearance or the driveway slopes. A site survey confirms whether a ground track or cantilever system suits the entrance, and groundwork, motor, safety sensors, and controls are all quoted together.
Automated Swing Gates
Motor selection is based on gate weight and opening arc, confirmed during a pre-installation check of hinge condition, post strength, and alignment. The gate arm, controller, and power supply wiring are all fitted to BS 7671 18th Edition standards in a single visit.
Bespoke Gate Design & Manufacture
Gates are fabricated to the measured opening width, ground level, and swing clearance of your specific entrance, so no adjustment is needed on site. Material choice, steel, aluminium, or wrought iron, and motor compatibility are specified together, not retrofitted after the gate is built.
Cantilever Gate Systems
Cantilever gates hang from support carriages fixed to posts beside the opening, with no rail in the ground. The gate leaf extends past the post as a counterbalance, so the system clears gravel, frost heave, and debris that would stop a tracked sliding gate.
Electric Gate Installation
A site survey confirms motor suitability, gate weight, and post condition before any work begins. Groundwork, control panel wiring, safety sensors, and a full open/close test are included in the quote from the start.
Electric Gate Repair & Emergency Callouts
A local installer attends to diagnose the specific component at fault, motor, control panel, safety sensor, or power supply, using on-site testing rather than guesswork. Where a full repair cannot be completed in one visit, the gate is left in a safe, manually operable state before the engineer leaves.
Gate Automation Retrofitting
Retrofitting starts with a suitability assessment, gate balance, hinge wear, post rigidity, and opening arc, before any motor is chosen. Safety beams are installed to DHF standards and all electrical work meets current wiring regulations, keeping the existing gate in place wherever possible.
Preventative Maintenance & Servicing
A scheduled service checks motor condition, safety edge and photocell function, hinge and roller wear, electrical connections, and manual release operation. A closing force test confirms the gate stops within the limits set by the Supply of Machinery Safety Regulations before the visit is signed off.
Smart Access Control & Intercoms
An outdoor visitor panel connects to your phone over GSM or WiFi, letting you see and speak to a caller and trigger the gate motor’s relay output without leaving the house. Cat5 or two-core cabling routes the signal from panel to control panel, with wireless options where buried cable is impractical.
Wooden & Timber Electric Gates
Timber gates are heavier than aluminium and expand with moisture, so motor selection and hinge condition are assessed during a site survey before any work is quoted. Oak and treated hardwood options are available, and all electrical work is carried out to Part P compliance.
Wrought Iron & Metal Gates
Made-to-measure mild steel or wrought iron gates are sized to your exact entrance width and finished with a galvanised primer and powder coat to resist rust. Post checks, hinge alignment, and latch setting are all part of the fitting visit.
Tell Us About Your Entrance
We arrange a local installer to survey your entrance, specify safety edges and photocells to DHF and Gate Safe standards, and quote groundwork and wiring as part of the same job.
